About National Motorbike

National Motorbike builds and supports high-performance electric bikes and scooters, backed by a US-based support team and a stocked domestic warehouse.

Most electric bikes sold in the United States are bought from the same handful of factories and relabelled. That is not a secret, and pretending otherwise is where most brands lose credibility. What differs is everything that happens around the hardware: which components get specified, what gets rejected at inspection, how long a part stays stocked, and whether a person answers the phone when a controller faults in month fourteen.

We started in 2019 after one too many rides on a bike whose battery died inside a year and whose seller had already disappeared. The plan was unglamorous: pick a small number of platforms, specify components that survive American roads and weather, hold stock domestically, and staff a support desk with people who actually work on the bikes.

That means we are not the cheapest listing for any given motor wattage. It also means replacement packs exist for a model five years after it was retired, and that a warranty claim is a conversation rather than a ticket reference.

How we operate

  1. 01 Publish the real numbers

Range, top speed, weight and watt-hours on every product page, tested at a stated rider weight and assist level. Where a figure is a best case, we say so and explain what changes it.

  2. 02 Stock it domestically

Everything ships from a US warehouse. No six-week ocean freight waits, no customs bills, and parts arrive in days rather than quarters.

  3. 03 Support what we sell

The support desk is staffed by technicians who service these exact platforms, not a scripted call centre. Phone, email and the contact form all reach the same people.

  4. 04 Warranty a rider can predict

Two years on frame, motor, battery and electronics, with a stated capacity threshold rather than vague ‘defects in materials’ language.

What happens before a bike ships

Every inbound pallet is sampled, not spot-checked. These are the checks that have caught real problems – each of them has rejected at least one batch.

  1. 01 Battery load test

Full charge, then discharge to rated cut-off under load. Packs more than 5% below rated capacity are rejected outright, and the whole batch goes back if the sample rate is too high.

  2. 02 Controller and display pairing

Throttle response, cut-off speed, error codes across a full start-to-stop cycle at both extremes of the temperature range.

  3. 03 Torque audit

Every fastener on a sample build is checked against spec with a calibrated wrench. Loose stems are the single most common assembly fault, and the most dangerous.

  4. 04 Brake bedding and adjustment

Discs bedded, calipers aligned, and pad contact confirmed before the bike is packed. Ridden, not just squeezed.

  5. 05 Battery safety and certification review

Cell supplier documentation, BMS behaviour under fault conditions, and UL 2849 documentation on file before a model is listed for sale.
